7" x 5" ( 254 x 203mm ) Artist Canvas  Board

Winsor & Newton Canvas Board

Providing excellent adhesion of colour, and a balanced absorbency and tooth, Winsor & Newton Artists’ Canvas Board has been treated with a coat of acid free size, plus two coats of highly pigmented primer, to achieve the same high quality as with their range of stretched canvas.

Winsor & Newton Artists’ Canvas Board:

  • 100% cotton
  • Medium grain
  • Triple primed
  • Acid free
  • 4mm width

What Is Canvas Board?

Made by stretching, and then affixing, cotton or linen canvas over a rigid base of card or wood, Canvas Board offers a firm support for artistic creations.

How do I choose a Canvas?

Canvas is graded according to weight and tightness of weave. Ranging from 1 to 12, a low number indicates a coarse grain, whereas the finest grains are represented by the highest numbers. Often, canvas is simply graded as “Coarse”, “Medium” and “Fine”.

Why choose Winsor & Newton Artists’ Canvas Board?

An inexpensive alternative to Stretched Cotton Canvas ,  the triple primed, medium grain surface of Winsor & Newton’s Artists’ Canvas Board prevents the sinking of oil colour, and supports all media, including Oil PaintAcrylic Colour and Gouache.

Who are Winsor & Newton?

In 1832, William Winsor and Henry Newton introduced the first moist water colours to the world. Today, Winsor and Newton remain the premier choice for artists, offering a wide variety of fine art supplies including: oil, water colour, acrylic and alkyd paints, pastels, artists' brushes, canvases, papers and portfolios.
